When driving though the desert the road seems endless. There is nothing around for miles and miles. Nothing but desert plants, dry sand and heat. If your car should break down, and you find yourself stuck in the desert, there are methods of surviving, until you get help. Steps 1.Stay as hydrated as possible before going out and soak your skin in cold water until your skin becomes wrinkly. Pat your skin dry and put on sun screen. 2.Wear a white sheet over your body to reflect sunlight away from you. Cut two eye holes for your eyes. Your sheet should look like a stereotype of a ghost. Make sure that your back, front sides are equally covered. And wear goggles that fit through the eye holes. The goggles can't be a mask. 3.Try to crawl under the sand to stay cool. Keep an eye out for any snakes. 4.Try to stay as warm as possible at night. It can become very cold in the desert at night. And be wary of nocturnal animals that can harm you. Tips 1.Expose yourself to high temperatures before heading to the desert so you become more used to the heat. Warnings [edit] 1.Remember, if you are lost in the desert and you took a vehicle, try to use it as a shelter. Never leave your vehicle and use anything within your posession to aid your survival.
